Betty Lou Perry

Betty L. Perry, 72, of Chester, VA passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Born in Alleghany County, NC she was the daughter of the late John W. and Flora Anderson Hines. Betty enjoyed bowling, playing cards, praising her Lord at Calvary Baptist Church and spending time in nature. She retired from DuPont after 25 plus years of service and had volunteered there as an EMT. Ms. Perry will be loved and remembered by many as a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Julie Garrett and Debbie McCoy; two grandchildren, David Garrett and Jordan Kellas; three great-grandchildren, Alexus, Teresa and McKenzie Garrett; four sisters, Linda Thompson, Mary Sale, Judy Petree and Dorothy Saferight; two brothers, Johnny and Jerry Hines; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 17001 Jefferson Davis Hwy., S. Chesterfield, VA 23834 with the Rev. Ray Haskett, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Betty. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
