Betty Jo Root, 85, of Hopewell, VA., passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020.
Born in Craig, W.VA., and the daughter of the late Cecil and Lola Callison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Root; daughter, Vera Lynn Grim and son, Gary Casey.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Comer and stepson, Wade Root (Julie); grandchildren, Austin Comer, Sean, Christopher, and Kristen Casey; step-grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor and Wyatt Root; great-grandchild, Leah, Rylee, Mason; step-grandchildren. Cody Duncan. She is also survived by two brothers, Bobby Callison (Carol) of Rainelle, W.VA., and Billy Callison (Nancy) of Prince George, VA.; sister, Bonnie Frashure (Charles) of Hopewell, VA.
The family will receive friends, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in Bermuda Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hopewell Humane Society, 3412 Oaklawn Blvd. Hopewell, VA 23860.
