Beulah L. Saunders, 106, of Hopewell passed away peacefully on Friday May 7, 2010 at Hopewell Health Care Center. Mrs. Saunders was born on November 27, 1903 in Waynesville, N.C. one of eight children. She was the daughter of the late John Smith and Lorene Crawford Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn W. Saunders, Sr., and her youngest child, Charles R. Saunders. She is survived by her two daughters, Christine S. Hosea and Maxine S. Williams; daughter-in-law, Carol S. Saunders; two sons, Glenn W. Saunders, Jr. and wife, Betty Jane, James Larry Saunders and wife, Anne; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Mrs. Saunders was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, and was active in the WMU, The Young at Hearts, and was an active member of the Senior Ladiesâ?? Sunday School Class. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Hendricks, pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Va. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
