Beverly Brown

Beverly Diane Brown, 62, of Colonial Heights, VA died Friday July 22, 2011 in her daughterâ??s home. She was born November 20 1948 in Burlington, Iowa to Clyde and Doris Marshall Hultgren. She was married to Larry C. Brown. She attended Old Dominion University and received her masters in nursing in 2002, and became a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner, she then attended VCU Medical College of Virginia received a Post masters certificate in nursing in 2008. She held many certifications and was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Epsilon Chi Chapter Old Dominion, Norfolk Va. She was employed with John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell VA for over 20 years. She then became an Assistant Professor at VSU (Virginia State University) and taught in the nursing program. She is survived by her five children, Shari Rees, Jeanette Priestley, Christina Daugherty all of Richmond, VA, William Cook of Lubbock, TX, and Gregg Brown of Dinwiddie, VA; eleven grandchildren; husband, Larry; mother, Doris Hultgren; one brother, Richard Hultgren of Burlington. She was preceded in death by a daughter, her father, a granddaughter and both maternal and paternal grandparents. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 26, 2011 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
