Beverly Lloyd Childress

Beverly Lloyd Childress, 80, a lifelong resident of Petersburg, VA, died Thursday, September 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd N. and Helen Carr Childress, and both of his sons, John and Arthur Childress. Mr. Childress retired from Allied Chemical after 36 years of service. He was a dedicated volunteer for Prince George Fire Department Co. 1 for many years, and most recently was a volunteer at Southside Regional Medical Center for five years. He was a member of Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church and Prince George Lodge No. 115, A.F. & A.M. Mr. Childress is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary V. Childress, a brother, David G. Childress, a sister, Ethel C. Peterson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home followed by interment at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
