Bianka Maria (McQuillan) Davis, born January 19, 1943 in Bremerhaven, Germany went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2005 after a brief struggle with cancer. Bianka was the daughter of Dr. John McQuillan and the late Hilde McQuillan of Helena, Montana. She graduated from Helena High School in 1963, John Tyler Community College in 1993 and Virginia State University in 1995 with a BA in Sociology. She then enrolled in Graduate School at VSU and had completed all but one course towards her Masters Degree in History. She married O. John Davis of Helena, MT on January 17, 1970 and moved to El Paso, Texas until 1980 after which they moved to Petersburg. Bianka was very active in her community and church. She was Chief Coordinator for the Downtown Church?s Prescription Drug Program from 2003 until the present and participated in the feeding of the Street People program for many years. She was very active at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer as leader of the Mary Martha Circle from 1983 to 1986, Secretary and Vice President for the Women of ECLA and President of the Women of the ECLA at Redeemer Church from 2003 until the present. She was the Delegate at the Virginia Synodical Women?s Organization Convention in 2003. She has been active in the Social Ministry Committee since the 1980?s and was President from 2003 until the present. Bianka was an accomplished quilter and donated numerous quilts to charity auctions as well as people in need and sold her quilts across the U.S. Bianka was preceded in death by her mother Hilde and is survived by her husband, John of Petersburg; son, Adrian of Brooklyn, NY; father, Dr. John (Joan) McQuillan of Helena, MT; brother, Tom McQuillan of Amisville, VA; sister, Carina (Darrell) Zook of Helena, MT; brother, John McQuillan of Portland, OR and brother, Ralph (Clarice) McQuillan of Seattle, WA. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, November 7 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 8 at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1769 S. Sycamore St. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
