Billie Leonard

Billie Jordan Leonard, 88, of Lake Chesdin, Sutherland, passed away at her home on April 1, after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease. She was born in Campbell County to the late James E. and Gertrude Cardwell Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Eula Conner, Margaret Padgett, and Sadie Conyers, and brother, Ronald R. Jordan. She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, William "Billy" Leonard of Sutherland, and her daughters, Doris L. Pritchett and husband, Irving, of Dinwiddie, and Linda L. Barker of Sutherland. She is also survived by her grandson, William Leonard Barker, of Sutherland, a brother, James E. Jordan, Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Concord, a devoted nephew, R. Kenneth Brown and wife, Linda, of Sutherland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks go to her devoted caregivers, Ester Fulgham, Annie Robb, and Lena Hobbs. Also, for their many kindnesses during Mrs. Leonard's illness, thanks go to the people of Ocran Church, Connie Angel, the staff at Arby's of Colonial Heights and Guiseppi's Pizza of Dinwiddie, and Linda and Debbie of Applebees in Colonial Heights. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Ocran United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
