Billy Lee Collins went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2011, in the Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehab Center, Colonial Heights, VA. Billy was a lifelong resident of Hopewell, VA, and recently celebrated his 80th birthday on February 7, 2011. He was retired from Allied Chemical, Hopewell. Billy had many good friends through the years. He loved God, and reading his bible and newspaper until his eyesight deteriorated. Billy also loved his church, Woodlawn Presbyterian, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Billy always had a big smile for them and loved to tease and play with them. Each of them has been left rich in memories and love. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Lee Collins; and brothers, Bertis and John â??Pappyâ? Collins. He is survived by his wife, Peggy K. Collins; a brother, Ralph Collins and wife, Dottie of Hopewell; sisters, Mary Jo Noe and husband, Dwight of Gafney, SC, and Dianne Frink and husband, Jerry of Hopewell; ten nieces and nephews, Linda Janosik, Jeannine Miller, and Bert Collins, all of Prince George, VA, Kim Haggerty of Hopewell, Robyn Armstrong of Laurens, SC, Jonathan Noe of Enman, SC, Jeff Collins of Hopewell, Jay Frink and Steve Frink of Chester, VA, and Dawn Fetzer of Jacksonville, FL; twelve great nieces and nephews, Tiffany Dabney, Roger Haggerty, Billy Janosik, Chad and Justin Miller, Heather and Jason Armstrong, Alex â??Bebopâ? Collins, Sydney Frink, Taylor â??The little Florida boyâ? Fetzer, Cooper Colby and Kasey Frink. Billy is also survived by a step-daughter, Pam Jones; and step-son, Wayne Freeman of Louisiana. A memorial service and visitation will take place on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, Blackstone St. Hopewell, VA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. Condolences to the family may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
