Blanche Louise Andrews Belcher, 96, of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012. She was a native of Petersburg and was the daughter of the late George Irving and Mattie Louise Wolfrey Andrews; and was also preceded in death by her husband Melvin A. Belcher, Sr.; a grandson, Joseph Waverly Belcher; a great-grandson, Dylan Michael Leis; and four brothers, Irving, Forrest, Walter, and George Andrews. Mrs. Belcher was a member of West End Baptist Church in Dinwiddie, and frequently attended Matoaca Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce B. Skelton and husband, Ronald of Church Road; one son, Melvin A. Belcher Jr. and wife, Lynn of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren, Ronald Skelton, Jr., Sharon Perkins and husband, Troy, Melvin A. Belcher, III and wife, Theresa, and Tracey B. Barlow and husband, David; nine great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Berkley Perkins, Brittany, Ashley, Caley, and Derek Belcher, Makayla, Brandon, and Keirstyn Barlow; and one niece, Helen Howerton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, with the Rev. Donald Joyner, officiating. The family request contributions be made to Matoaca Baptist Church, 6409 River Rd. S. Chesterfield, Va. 23803.
