Bobby Gene Burke

Bobby G. Burke, 80, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Born in Exeter, VA on January 2, 1938 he was the son of the late Noah Rueben and Myrtle McClure Burke; and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Babe Ruth Burke, Burt Burke and Tommy Burke; and a sister, Barbara Ann Lawson. He retired from Reynolds Metals after 30 years of service and was affectionately known by his co-workers as “Cat”. Mr. Burke enjoyed metal detecting and fishing. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Norma J. Burke; a daughter, Rhonda K. Simmons and husband, Ron; a son, Timothy E. Burke; two grandchildren, Jessica Simmons and Justin Simmons and wife, Alison; two great-grandchildren, Skylar Elise and Kinsley Grace; a brother, N.R. Burke and wife, Margaret; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the funeral home.
