Bobby Gene Christopher

Bobby Gene Christopher, affectionately known as “Pa”, 79, of Church Road, VA passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021. Born and raised in Dinwiddie County, he was the son of the late Willie E. and Hallie Moore Christopher; and was also preceded in death by eight siblings, Louise Bishop, Alice Maitland, Betty Lou Fisher, Joyce Christopher, Willie Christopher, Cecil Christopher, Joe Christopher and Tommy Christopher. Mr. Christopher retired as an electrician and for 49 years was a member of the Local Union #666 IBEW. He had served in the Army National Guard and has also served with the Ford Volunteer Fire Department and the Dinwiddie Volunteer Rescue Squad. Bobby loved Bluegrass and Country music and enjoyed playing his guitars with his friends. He was a longtime dedicated member of Central Baptist Church in Church Road. Mr. Christopher is survived by his loving wife, Joyce D. Christopher; two children, Michael W. Christopher (Pam) and Joy C. Kolovich (Bob); grandchildren, Alex (Paige) and Nick Christopher, Haley (Ben) and Evan Hornsby and Rachel Meeks; two great-grandchildren, RaeLynn and Bryleigh; and two sisters-in-law, Patsy and Marquita Christopher. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Southlawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jacob Drake, officiating. The family is being served by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
