Bobby Lawrence Cook, 66, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia. Born November 5, 1939 in Southampton County, he was the son of the late Robert Cook and Sweetie Mae Saunders Cook.
Bobby was a tire mechanic all of his life having worked for the Town of Ivor Maintenance Dept., Ivor Oil Co. and BP gas station, and Surry Ford New Holland. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, Virginia.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Edith Bell Johnson Cook of Surry; two daughters, Edith L. Harris of Wakefield, and Virginia Elaine Cook of Surry; one brother, ?Duck? Cook of Corapeake, N.C.; three sisters, Lucille Berryman of Surry, Margaret Vinters of Suffolk, and Elsie Johnson of Carrsville, VA; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Zuni, VA. on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses. Purviance Funeral Home, P.O.
