Bobby Gene Piner II, 52, of Chester, VA, died Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Born and raised in Hopewell, VA, he was the son of the late Bobby Gene Piner I. He is survived by his mother, Lynda Jones and step-father, Donald Jones; wife of 13 years, Lisa Piner; children, Lauryn Molter (Nicholas), Amanda Piner, Bobby (Tripp) Gene Piner III and Mary Grace Piner; step-children, Christopher (Blake) Hatton (Tina) and Matthew Schuh; grandchild, Camdyn Hatton; two sisters, Connie Mathews (Mike) and Kimberly Heffler (Jerry); nieces, Susan Hayes and Alexandria Ross (Anthony); nephew, John Mathews (Rachel); and many life-long friends. After training at the Newport News shipyard, he took pride in his work as a millwright. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and teaching others the joy of the sports. His largest accomplishments in life and greatest pride, were all of his children. A celebration of life will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T.
