Bonnie Lou Evans

Bonnie Lou Evans, 71, of Chester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Gladys Hartman; a brother, Perry Hartman; and her sister, Donna Lilly. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Evans; a son, Derek Evans and wife, Carol; one daughter, Anjanette Moring; three brothers, Allen Hartman and wife, Charlotte, Paul Hartman and wife, Victoria, and Terry Hartman and wife, Cynthia; two sisters, Vera Elkins and husband, Kenny, and Carol Mason and husband, Charles; and her four legged companion, Casper. Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, enjoying baking, candy making, and decorating. While decorating, she frequently rearranged all the furniture in the house, causing a few accidents. She also appreciated bargain shopping, most often purchasing gifts for others. Bonne had a knack for picking out thoughtful, treasured, small gifts. In addition, Bonnie enjoyed spending time on the boat or in the pool. Recently, Bonnie took up furniture refinishing, becoming a skilled painter. She made friends easily, talking to everyone she met. Bonnie thought of others first, before herself. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
