Boyd Arthur Faithful, 85, passed away on December 19, 2024. He was born April 25, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Boyd Leon Faithful and Christine Amelia Breihoff. He was a 1957 graduate of Lansdowne-Aldan High School in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He was in the Army reserves for three years (1959-1962).
After retiring from IBM, in East Fishkill, New York, he moved to Virginia with his late wife, Gertrude Mary (1949-2022). As an early retiree, he was a proud school driver in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, and a part time pharmacy delivery driver for Central State Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia.
He had been with the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years; Troop #17 in the Fairview area of the Town of Poughkeepsie, New York, and Troop #178 in Colonial Heights, Virginia. He was a Cubmaster for Pack 178.
After witnessing the hard-fought performance by the Whiz Kids (nickname of the 1950 Philadelphia Phillies) as an 11-year-old boy, he had been a baseball fan until he passed. Ironically, he closed his life chapter as a Yankee fan. In addition to baseball card collecting as a hobby, he also loved to collect coins.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel and Robert; granddaughter, Kristyn Nicole (Aaron Sr.); and great-grandson, Aaron Browand, Jr.
O, Art my faithful,
