Brenda Bailey Ellwood

Brenda Bailey Ellwood, 74, of Prince George, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellwood; mother, Rachel L. Ozmore Bailey; sister, Rachel Griggs; and brother-in-law, Dwight Wheeler. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Byerly (Lee); son, Brian Ellwood (Michelle); grandchildren, Rachel Byerly, Finn Ellwood, and Afton Ellwood; father, James W. Bailey; siblings, Donna Wheeler and James C. Bailey (Tammie); brother-in-law, Boyd Griggs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Brenda was a career civil servant in personnel and retired from Fort Lee after 36 years of service. She was a Deacon at Walnut Hill Baptist Church and most recently a member of New Life Baptist Church in Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
