Brenda Ward Hoover, 80, of Hopewell, VA, died January 9, 2022. Raised in Hopewell, she was the daughter of the late Quentin and Virginia Ward. Mrs. Hoover resided in both Virginia and Florida during various seasons of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved large family gatherings. Mrs. Hoover held a lifelong love of learning - attending college at a non-traditional age, as well as technical school -receiving certifications as a nail technician and upholstery technician. She loved crafting and showcased her talents through sewing, flower arranging and ceramics, as well as many other avenues. She also loved the beauty of the woods, taking rides to view deer feeding in the fields and fishing. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hoover was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles E. Hoover; their infant son, Charles E. Hoover, Jr.; her brother, Richard Ward; and her sister, Judy Cook. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Clements and her husband, Roger of Gloucester, VA; Billy Hoover and his wife, Mary of Marion, VA; Charles E. Hoover II (Chuck) and his wife, Debi of Beverly Hills, FL; her sister, Jean Cruppenink of Hopewell, VA; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 12pm on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester VA. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
