Brenda Roe Meade, 71, of North Chesterfield, VA passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. Born in Atlanta, GA she was the daughter of the late Carl Madison Roe and Helen Roe Howell and her husband, Francis “Dix”; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Meade, Jr.; two brothers, Edward Roe and Gene Roe; and three sisters, Carolyn Jones, Linda Bryant and Sandra Smith. She is survived by her sister, Teresa Witte (Chris); two step-brothers, Steven Howell and Malcolm Howell (Debbie); her three daughters, Dawn Brooks (Ed), Lisa Dickson (Jason) and Brie Meade; her precious grandchildren, Avery, Win and Meade Brooks, Sydney and Emory Dickson; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Mrs. Meade retired from Fort Lee as a Budget Analyst after 40 plus years of dedicated service. She was a longtime cheer coach for Harrowgate Athletic Association and served on the Board of Directors for the Miss Chesterfield and Miss Hanover Scholarship Program. Brenda was loved by all and completely devoted to her family. Being the oldest daughter of a family of 7 children, she was always the caretaker, the peacemaker and the shoulder to cry on. During her life there were sacrifices and great losses she endured, yet she always met them with tremendous strength and courage. As a Mom, she loved unconditionally and was her daughters’ biggest supporter. She was always present and was the greatest role model for her 3 daughters and grandchildren. But her most treasured role was Grammy. She was completely devoted to her grandchildren, “her heart”, and nothing brought her or them more happiness than just being together. She loved them to the moon and back, as she would always say, and they adored their Grammy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Ray Haskett, officiating. The family requests that all visitation and funeral attendees please wear a mask. Condolences may be registered at
