Cabal Astor Eley, of Petersburg died February 4, 2007. He was born August 17, 1912 in Isles of Wight County. He was the son of the late Mary Bradshaw and George Fenton Eley. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Margaret Grinstead Eley; sisters Helen Robins, Evelyn Smith and Martha Spouce, brothers Oscar, George, John and Robert Eley. He was a member of the Powhatan Starke - A.F. & A.M., Lodge 124 for 61 years and Chester Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Honeywell for 35 years. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Howerton (Kenneth) of Chester; four grandchildren, Debra Green Srock (Fred) of Chesterfield, Douglas Draper (Katherine) of Chester, David Draper (Tamara) of Colonial Heights, Dwayne Draper of Richmond; five great-grandchildren, Michelle Green Reierson (Matt) of Richmond, Joshua Green of Chesterfield, Jacelyn Draper of Colonial Heights, Tabitha Draper of Chester, Brett Draper of Colonial Heights; one great-great-grandson, Dillian Tackett; four step-grandchildren, Catilin Srock, Lillian Simko, Cyclia Krapcha and Daniel Simko; sister, Katherine Grumbles (Hunter) of Danville; brother, Leroy Eley (Gloria) of Chester. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 10, 2007 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Masonic Rites will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the funeral home with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nehemiah/Joseph Project, Unity Christ Church of Bon Air, 923 Buford Road, Richmond, VA 23235.
