Calvin Rhoades Johnson

Mr. Calvin Rhoades Johnson, "Chuck", of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, December 1st at the age of 92. He is survived by his children, David (Linda) of Columbia, SC, Jimmy (Linda) of Dinwiddie, VA, Chris (George) of Portsmouth, VA, Mark (Jill) of Tampa, FL, and Stacy (Jim) of Alexandria, VA and his brother, Charles (Mildred) of Montverde, FL. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by the love of his life Mildred (Duke) Johnson, "Milly", his wife of 57 years and their son, Ricky. He was also preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Peggy Johnson, brothers, Bill and Gerald, and sisters, Marie and Gloria. Chuck (Pop or Papoo, as he was lovingly known by his grandchildren) was best known for the stories he loved to tell. He loved to sit and reminisce about his youth. He was always proud of the fact he held the title of Petersburg Marble Champion "a long long time ago." He loved to go on long walks and visit with family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
