Carl Ashbrook

Carl Edward Ashbrook, 80, of Hopewell, died Friday, March 11, 2005 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Honaker, VA and had been a resident of this area for many years. Mr. Ashbrook attended the Church of the Nazarene and was a retired clerk from McKay Hardware. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis F. and Bessie Holland Ashbrook. Mr. Ashbrook is survived by his wife, Gladys Honaker Ashbrook of Hopewell, two sons, Edward Lee Ashbrook, also of Hopewell, Rev. Barry Lynn Ashbrook of Montpelier, five grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, three sisters, Sue A. Honaker of St. Louis, MO, Hazel A. Sykes, Lois A. Hubbard, both of Bristol, VA, three brothers, Billy Ashbrook of Columbus, OH, Fay Ashbrook of Abingdon, VA and Ernest Ashbrook of Chesapeake, VA. The family will receive friends Monday, March 14, 2005 from 6:00 to 7:00PM in the Church of the Nazarene. A funeral service will follow at 7:00PM with the Rev. Dr. Lewis Brown, Pastor officiating. Interment will take place Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 11:00AM in Appomattox Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mrs. Ashbrook to defray funeral expenses.
