Carl Richard Bogese, 85, of Hopewell, Va. ,died Tuesday, November 9,2004. Born June 25,1919 in Hopewell, Va. He was predeceased by his parents, George J. and Mary K. Bogese, his wife Mary Jane Covington Bogese,a brother, Stephen Bogese. Mr. Bogese was a graduate of Hopewell High School, attended the University of Richmond, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University. He was a Captain serving in WWII. Mr. Bogese was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart . He was co-owner of Covington Plumbing and Heating and President of Carl Bogese Associates, a building and development company. In this capacity, he was responsible for numerous residential, commercial and apartment complexes. Mr. Bogese was a past president of The HomeBuilders Association of Southside, VA.; founding Director and
First President of the Rural Housing Association of Va. He was a lifetime Director of the National Association of Homebuilders. He is survived by his children, Carl Richard Bogese, Jr., and his wife JoAnn of Chester. William L. Bogese, and his wife Sandra, of Prince George. Nancy B. Burket, and her husband , Jim, of Petersburg. Trish B. Molver, and her husband, Hans, of Chester. Also, his brothers, Micheal J. Bogese, Sr., George J. Bogese, and Vondra J. Weeks, sister. Fourteen grandchildren; Bryan, Jonathan and Kyle Bogese. Kathy Koegl Martinez. Todd, Ryan, Blake and Maggie Bogese.
James and Mary Elizabeth Burket.. Natalie, Julie Ann, Janie and Katie Molver. Three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Kelly and Emily Koegl. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 6:30pm in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. Following the rosary, the family will receive friends until 8:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be said at St. James Catholic Church on Friday, November 12, 2004, at 11:00 am, with Father Daniel Bond, officiating. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George County. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 102 N. 5th Ave., Hopewell, Va, 23860.
