Carl Wayne Calhoun, 76, of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2006. Born in Bristol, VA, he was the son of the late Carl West and Marie Goodman Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War and worked for the K-Mart Corporation for over 40 years. He was a member of Blandford Lodge #3 A. F. & A. M., Alpha Chapter #1 Order of the Eastern Star, Petersburg Union Royal Arch Chapter #7, and Washington Street United Methodist Church. Mr. Calhoun is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Rebecca Foster Calhoun; daughters, Patricia C. Hutson of Sumner, NE and Karen A. Ellis of Colonial Heights; son, John C. Calhoun of Petersburg; grandson, William ?Brad? Ellis of Colonial Heights; granddaughter, Sara Joy Hutson of Sumner, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Thursday, March 23 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel. Interment with Masonic rites will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
