Carl Coalson

Carl J. Coalson, 75, of Hopewell, passed away Saturday May 21, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kate Farley & Henry Coalson, 2 brothers; David and Dean Coalson. Mr. Coalson was a veteran of the USAF from 1953 to 1957 and served his country in Korea. He loved to fish, collect old coins, and was a painter in the construction business for 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Evelyn G. Coalson, daughter; Kimberly Wilson & husband, Bob, son; Carl J. Coalson, Jr. & wife Janie, 3 grandsons; Robert A. Wilson & wife Jessie, Chase & Jacob Coalson, sisters; Betty Bolen & husband Earl of W. Va., Geneva McGrady & husband Eddie of Michigan, brothers; Rick Coalson of Tennessee, Gary Coalson & wife Kitty of Chillhowie, Va., Ronnie Coalson & wife Connie, Bernard Coalson & wife Mary all of Hopewell, numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday May 24, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held in Merchantâ??s Hope Memorial Gardens Wednesday May 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to the Massey Cancer Center at VCU.
