Carl Leo Grissom Sr.

Carl Leo Grissom Sr., 79, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018. He was preceded in death by his son, Clifford Earl Grissom. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Edith; children, Carl Grissom Jr. “Sonny”(Beth), Michael Grissom (Angel), Kathryn Ellinger (Bill), Mary Hall, Steven Grissom (Jackie), Carol Sue Grissom; 3 grandsons, Michael Alan Grissom, Christopher Hall, Cody Hall; 3 granddaughters, Emily Foster (Caleb), Madalyn Grissom, Victoria Grissom; and 4 great grandchildren. Carl retired from VDOT after 36 years of service. He was an avid hunter and loved all sports, especially softball. Carl loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 25, at the Petersburg Chapel of the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 26, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral home with entombment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
