Carl Lee Knight, Jr

Carl Lee Knight, Jr., 62, of Dewitt, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Estie Austin; his parents, Mattie Kathleen Powell and Carl Lee Knight, Sr.; and brother, Johnny Knight . Carl was a retired Superintendent from Colonial Webb. He was a member of the Chickahominy Anglers and was the best fisherman around. In earlier years Carl played the guitar. He spent time in the Army where he got to travel to Germany. He loved life, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sally Wilson Knight; three daughters, Laura Seabolt and husband, Clarence Jr., Monica Butts and husband, Shawn, and Marcie Knight; son, Carl L. Knight, III “Bub”; eleven grandchildren, Clarence III, Nicholas, Gabby, Gavin, Sincere, Ethan, Donovan, Makayla, Jada, Jace, and Emily; two sisters, Estelle Mayo and Veronica Miller; two brothers, James Milliner and Harold Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
