Carl Vernon Shell, Sr.

Carl Vernon Shell, Sr., 77, of Dinwiddie, VA passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Born in Dinwiddie, VA he was the son of the late Roger L. Shell, Jr. and Ruth Elder Shell; and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy T. Shell; and his sister, Julia Ann Aguilar. Carl was a life long Tobacco Farmer in Dinwiddie and was also an avid bird hunter. He had attended West End Baptist Church for many years. Carl will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. Mr. Shell is survived by his son, Carl V. Shell, Jr. (Terri); a daughter, Susan Eubank (John); four grandchildren, Ethan Eubank (Katie), Ashley Heath (Nolan), Nick Benitez (Julia) and Rebecca Shell; one great-granddaughter, Mila Benitez; special friend and "buddy" Kathy Whirley; four brothers, Roger "Butch" L. Shell, III (Jeane), Claude C. Shell (Carolyn), Michael D. Shell (Kerry) and Bruce F. Shell (Anne); his brother-in-law, Art Aguilar; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Mark Hughes, officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
