Carlton E. Bowe

Carlton E. Bowe, 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Thomas and Norma Brough Bowe; 2 daughters, Carolyn Cogle and Virginia “Mel” Shell; 1 granddaughter; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters. Carlton was a long-time member of Matoaca Baptist Church. He loved spending time outdoors picking flowers for his wife and walking through the local parks. He even would walk to the local YMCA to exercise. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marie S. Bowe; daughter, Joan Bowe; 6 grandchildren, Billy Johnson, Kathy Peterson, Daniel Cogle, Wanda Ward, Patricia Mitchell and Debbie Kidd; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
