Carlton Nunnally

Carlton M. Nunnally, Sr., 87, of DeWitt, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008. Born in Dinwiddie, he was the son of the late Wyatt B. and Ida Mae Ogburn Nunnally. Mr. Nunnally served in the U. S. Army, 2nd Armored Division â??Hell on Wheelsâ?, under Gen. George Patton, during WWII. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine L. Nunnally. He is survived by his sons, Carlton M. Nunnally, Jr. and wife, Joyce of DeWitt and Wyatt L. Nunnally and wife, Robin of Dinwiddie; grandchildren, Teresa Christian, Michael Nunnally, Michelle Nunnally, and Kara Nunnally; great-grandchildren, Rachel Nunnally, Rebecca Nunnally, and Jessica Christian. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 25th, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, at Rocky Run United Methodist Church Cemetery, Glebe Road, DeWitt, VA, with Rev. Karen Workman officiating.
