Carol Lee Bostic, 83, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Carol was born on June 3, 1941, in Scranton, PA, and was preceded in death by her parents, David Hodges and Alma Jones Hodges; her husband of 34 years, Arthur D. Bostic, Jr.; daughter, Kimberly Ann Shultis; grandson, Michael Phillips; granddaughter, Tiffany Mullins; sisters, Francis Moose, Jane Prete, and Judy Russo; and brothers, William Hodges and David Hodges, Jr. Carol worked for Harrison's Super Market #2 in Dinwiddie for 26 years. She was known there as the "little red head". Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was a devout Christian.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Faith Davis (Robbie), of Chesterfield, VA, and Hope Rowlett (WG), of Stafford, VA; son, David Shultis (Heike), of Connecticut; son, Donnie Bostic III (Kim), of Dinwiddie, VA; daughter, Kim Bostic (Tommy), of Colonial Heights, VA; grandson, Chris Davis (Ashley), of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughters, Kendal Sakiewicz (Shea), of Chester, VA, Laurin Rowlett, of Flordia, and Jessica Shultis, of Connecticut; grandson, Donnie Bostic IV (Leslie), of Dinwiddie, VA; grandson-in-law, Ben Mullins, of Dinwiddie, VA; great-grandchildren, Emma, Nora, and Bodie Sakiewicz, Grayson, Ellie and Savannah Davis, Dyllon, Gabrielle and Hannah Bostic, and Kaylee Mullins.
The family of Carol Bostic would like to thank James River Hospice for the excellent care she received over the past nine months. A special thank you to her nurses, Sharonda, Marissa, and Melissa; aids, Deborah, MiMi, and Paris; Chaplain Ed; and Hospice Social Worker, Mary Ann. A special thanks to Dunlop House Assistant Living and Memory Care for the wonderful staff there that took such good care of mom. The family would also like to thank the special care givers that provided her with loving companionship and care in her final days, Janice Daniel, Valerie Hamilton, and Tabitha Davis.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Western Heights Baptist Church, with the Reverend Jonathan Dundalow, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, South Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T.
