Carol Sue Oguich, 70, of Midlothian, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014. Born in Logan County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Gusta Farris Vance. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred John Oguich; brother, Leslie Floyd “Tom” Vance; sister, Karen Gail Thomas (nee Vance). Carol was a devout Christian and Servant, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She regularly read the scripture and lived her faith. Carol was known by all as “Gram”. She served the Lord and others in many ways- as Sunday School Teacher, as a caring friend, and through her endless hospitality. She loved to cook and everyone enjoyed her chocolate chip cookies. Carol was an avid Ohio State and Green Bay Packer fan. She was devoted to her pets throughout her life as they brought her endless joy. Carol is survived by her daughter, Karen Gail Eads (Jim); son, Eric John Oguich (Judy); four grandchildren, Alexandra Eads Routzahn (Andrew), Parker Addison Eads, Garrett Wesley Oguich, and Abigail Elizabeth Oguich; two brothers, Elbert Benjamin Vance (Frances) and James David Vance (Patricia); two brothers-in-law, George Frank Oguich (Cathy) and John Alfred Oguich; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
