Carol Veazey Titmus, 78, of Sutherland, VA, died Monday, June 11, 2018. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the only child of Morris Emery Veazey and Madeline Lewis Westbrook Veazey. Carol earned her Bachelor’s Degree from The College of William & Mary and her Master’s from Virginia State University. She taught school in Wake County, NC for a short time before moving to Dinwiddie County, VA, to continue her teaching career. Carol’s passion for education and teaching extended beyond the classroom into her church life. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years, and was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist, a charter member of Walnut Hill Baptist, a member of West End Baptist, where she also served as a Deacon and head of the Building Committee, and was currently a member of Ocran United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edward B. Titmus; daughter, Kimberly T. Przybyl and husband, Thomas; son, Edward H. Titmus, III and wife, Dawn; grandchildren, Jacob E. Titmus, Matthew E. Przybyl, and Lauren E. Titmus; and her devoted caregivers, Renarda Butts and Patty Piotrowski. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Ocran United Methodist Church 20221 Cox Road, Sutherland, VA 23885. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ocran United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
