Carole Ann Monahan

Carole Ann Monahan, age 77, a resident of Dinwiddie County, left this earth and joined her Savior Jesus in Heaven on May 10, 2021. She was born in Elks Run, Pennsylvania in a log cabin that her father Clarence Berquist and mother Flora Hill Berquist had built. She loved running in the fields of tall grass and wild daises. Carole had so many happy memories with her sisters Eva Jo, Goldie, Janetta, and Verla, and one very special baby brother Butch. She was blessed with love from many nieces and nephews also. The Lord gave her two children. A daughter named Shari Lynn and her son Glen Thullen III. She said, “the Lord gave me one of each. I am done.” God also gave her four grandsons, Chuck, Cory, Paul and Phillip. These grandsons have been blessed with beautiful wives! Melissa, Jasna and Beth! She was extremely happy and blessed to have five great grandchildren- Aiden, Camden, Emma, and Charley Ann and another special granddaughter very soon to be born. She married Don Monahan 50 years ago this week. They enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and traveling across America. Carole has lived in Virginia, Florida, Iowa, and California! She was a faithful member of Joy Fellowship Church in Hopewell, Virginia with near perfect attendance for 37 years. Carole told of a time that she lived 60 miles away. One time she drove to church and the church was canceled. Why? No snow at her house but when she arrived in Hopewell everything was closed in the city. Including the church! Carole loved her church family and prayed for them daily. The family requests that you join them at J.T. Morriss Funeral Home to give your condolences on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
