Carolyn Poole Hoylman, 62, of Dinwiddie, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Roy D. Poole, Sr. and Annie Harlow Poole; as well as her sister, Linda Poole Hayes. She is survived by her daughters, Chelsi Holderfield (Aaron), Megan Faulkner, and Wendy Sieber (Cecil); grandchildren, Madyson, Brayden, Brailyn, Ryker, Penelope, Diamond, and Hunter; brothers, Donald Poole (Angela) and Gary Poole (Stephanie); sister, Ginger Rafferty; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Carolyn was a devoted mama who loved her daughters dearly and adored her grandchildren. She was a woman of God, keeping her eyes on the Lord and her girls in church. God blessed her with many gifts, including painting and creative writing, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Carolyn also enjoyed fishing in her spare time. Carolyn had an inquisitive mind and eccentric and intuitive spirit, along with an infectious laugh, which her family will sorely miss.
Carolyn will be remembered as having the ability to turn nothing into something. Rather than disregarding the broken, she had the skill to find the beauty in the broken and repurpose it.
Lastly, Carolyn also never met a stranger and was a friend to all. She had a heart full of love and truly loved all people. She was quoted as saying the following:
"Love is really all that matters because everyone comes into this world with nothing other than love; and leaves this world with nothing other than love... So just love... love those that really love you. Love as if there were nothing more important in your life."
There will be no services.
"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." - James 1:12 NIV
In lieu of flowers, consider loving others unconditionally or performing an act of kindness for someone else in Carolyn's name.
