Carolyn Darlene Burchett Kestner

Carolyn Darlene Burchett Kestner was born June 21st, 1958 in Bluefield, West Virginia. From there she moved to Danville, VA, and later to Hopewell VA. She was a graduate of Hopewell High School, class of 1976.

She met Kendel Kestner at a Hess station she was working at in 1978. She always said he melted her heart, and she melted his ice cream. She had many different careers over the years, always exploring new possibilities. She put her whole heart into everything she did and everyone she loved. She loved to cook, sew, garden, take trips, take photographs, and spend time with family and friends. She always stood up for herself and those she loved. She was a force and took no mess from anyone.

Carolyn departed this life December 4th, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Leon Burchett Sr. and Betty Marie Hall Burchett.

She is survived by her adoring husband, of 41 years, Kendel Lynn Kestner, of Prince George, VA; her two daughters, Kasey Kestner Towles (Eric) of Glen Burnie, MD, Courtney Kestner, of Prince George, VA; her precious dog, Joey Lynn; two brothers, Rev. R. Leon Burchett Jr. (Donna), of Danville, VA, Randall "Randy" Burchett (Diana), of South Chesterfield, VA; one sister, Linda B. Childress (Ronnie), of Petersburg, VA. Also, Numerous family and friends. She was loved by so many, and she will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
