Carolyn Ann Stamper

Carolyn Ann Stamper, 75, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Lenora Young; and her loving husband of 34 years, William Preston "Wolf" Stamper, Jr. She is survived by her children, Michelle Quillen (Michael), John R. Williams III (Gail), Eryck Stamper, and Heather Bradick; grandchildren, Jennifer Jenkins, Whitney Jenkins, River Quillen, Ashby Quillen, Aubrianna Quillen, Simon Holmes, Ashley Holmes, and Aiyanna Stamper; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Akins and Melody Pulver (Bumper); and brother, Wayne Young. Carolyn was an accomplished writer and poet having several of her poems published. She was a longtime member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church where she was very active in the church right until her passing. Carolyn was loving, caring, giving, and was always willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time with her family and church family; and she will be greatly missed by all. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2024, at J.T. Morriss & Son Hopewell Chapel. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the chapel. Interment will follow immediately in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
