Carolyn Chandler Wells

May 28, 1941 — April 20, 2016

Carolyn Chandler Wells, 74, of Dinwiddie, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at her residence. Born in DeWitt, VA, she was the daughter of the late Elmo and Nellie Chandler. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bernard Wayne “Lumpy” Wells, and her brother, Gary Chandler. Carolyn started her career at the Virginia Restaurant Association but retired from Dinwiddie County Water Authority. She was also the owner of Carolyn’s Homemade Crafts. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Wayne Wells and Charles Christopher “Chris” Wells and wife, Sherrie; granddaughters, Shelbie Wells and Christa Wells; sisters, Janet Kaufman and husband, Ralph, and Glenda Coburn and husband, Gerry; brother, James Chandler and wife, Linda, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crawford United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 328, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
