Carolyn Louise Wingold

Carolyn Louise Wingold, 80, of Chester, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Born in Live Oak, Florida, she was the daughter of the late James Grady Gaskins and Orma Whippie Summers; and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Neil Powers; and three brothers, James "Bo" Gaskins, Richard Gaskins, and Ben Gaskins. Carolyn was a longtime active member of Chester Baptist Church, where she had served in many different capacities. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, William F. Wingold, Jr.; three children, Sheri Powers (John), Stephen Keith Wingold (Candice), and Kimberly Wingold Souther (Shannon); seven grandchildren, Adam (Megan), Christyn (Ryan), Zachary (Kaitlyn), Joshua, Zane (Kara), Madeleine, and Will; six great-grandchildren, Savannah, Sierra, Grace, Kelsie, Parker, and Carson; two brothers, Johnny Gaskins and Larry Gaskins (Sharon); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Watts officiating. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park, Chesterfield, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org , in memory of Carolyn L. Wingold.
