Carter Godsey

Carter Garvin Godsey, 82, of Hopewell, passed away Friday, August 12, 2005 at the McGuire VA Medical Center. Born in Richmond, he was the son of the late Joshua Everett and Daisy Stargart Godsey. Mr. Godsey served in the U. S. Navy during WWII with the Pacific Fleet. He retired from the Bank of Washington after 17 years of employment. Following his retirement, he moved to Hopewell and worked part-time in the Pro Shop at Jordan Point Country Club. He is survived by his sister, Nancy G. Brockwell; a devoted friend, Mary Hudson Godsey; two special great-nephews, Carl Hunter Lamberti and Louis Fisher Lamberti; and 10 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Wednesday, August 17, at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond.
