Catherine Wright

Catherine Wicks Wright, age 95, of Petersburg, VA passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Lillian Gwaltney Wicks, husband, Lester R. Wright, and son Larry Wright. Mrs. Wright was a member of West End Baptist Church and loved to play in the hand bell choir. She was very devoted to her family, helping to raise and care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wright is survived by her daughter, Lesta Lane; sons, David Phibbs (Jeanne), Raymond Branch (Frances), and Michael Wright (Joy); 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a loving, caring, and devoted niece, Gail Haley. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in Blandford Cemetery. The family will gather at Yesterdayâ??s following the service for a time of remembrance and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cares Shelter at 244 Halifax St. Petersburg, VA 23803. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
