Cathy Dudley Rainey

Cathy Dudley Rainey, 67, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 after a long battle with lung cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Doris Dudley; a son, Richard Wayne “Head” Rainey; and a great-granddaughter, Alice Jane Boone Fite.
She is survived by her sisters, Vivian Washington and husband, Carlos, and Betty Stark; her sons, Donald Wayne Rainey and wife, Rhonda, and William Samuel “Billy” Rainey and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Johnathan Richard Rainey, Victoria Colleen Rainey, Brittany Nicole Rainey, Kayla Marie Willis, Shawn Jayden Moore, Caden Samuel Rainey, Easton Parker Rainey, Jacob Wayne Rainey, and Cooper Richard Rainey; beloved nephew, Donald “Bo” Hamilton; and her “daughter,” Amy Michelle Bowe.
Cathy worked at Southside Regional Medical Center for 38 years, lastly as the Director of Materials Management, until March 2017 when her illness made her unable to continue working. Cathy will always be remembered for her dedication and love for her family. She especially loved her role as “Mema.” She will be greatly missed by all.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home followed by interment at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
