Cathy Joan Schneider

Cathy Joan Schneider, 63, of Church Road, VA, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020. Born in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Grant Hanvey, II. and Joan Price Hanvey. She is survived by her husband, Wess Paul Schneider; children, Curtis Garbett, Jr., Jennifer Chamberlain (Richard), James Schneider (Victoria), and Michael Schneider (Bridget); grandchildren, Joshua Chamberlayne Madison Chamberlain, Zachary Schneider, Morgan Chamberlain, and Colton Schneider; siblings, James Hanvey, III., Hope Huntley, Linda Pritchett, and Cheryl Hanvey; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved pets, Odie, Niko, Kitkat, Harrison, and Olaf. Cathy spent her working career as a pastry chef and cake decorator. She served on the Board of Directors for Crush it for Curtis, a bladder cancer advocacy foundation. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and watching hummingbirds. She was a selfless person who loved everyone and always took care of others. Most of all, she adored spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Following the service, the family will receive friends.
