Cecelia Hiller Magee (Cele) of Stony Creek died March 8, 2004. Her husband was the late Ehrlich Milton Magee (Mac). Cele was born in 1906 to the late August Louis and Anna Gertrude Hiller in St. Louis. She also lived in Birmingham, AL and later moved to Norfolk, VA. with her family where she graduated from Mathew Fontaine Maury High School in 1924. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College and moved to Sussex County to become a public school educator, where she met her beloved husband, Mac, and they made their home in Stony Creek. She continued her love of teaching with the Sussex County Public Schools until retirement. She was a member of the Fort Grove United Methodist Church. Cele was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jack Hiller and Louis Hiller and a nephew, Mark Hiller. She is survived by family and friends including Bagley and Nancy Baskervill Hawthorne of Kenbridge and their children, Baskervill Hawthorne of Atlanta and Sara Manson Hawthorne of San Francisco; 2 sister-in-laws, Mrs. Jack Hiller of Virginia Beach and her daughters, Gail Hiller and Leisa Villandre and son, Andrew and Mrs. Louis Hiller of Minnesota and her children Ann Rest and Kenny Hiller; Ann Meade Simpson and her family of Virginia Beach; Mary Jim Shaw and her family of Stuart, FL; Margie Kidd, Carolyn Garter and Katherine Jarratt of Stony Creek and many faithful helpers including Hester, Carolyn, Audrey, Linda, Bernice, Savannah, Maggie and Rosalind. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Friday March 12, 2004 at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Fort Grove United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 145, Stony Creek, VA 23882.
