Celia Gail Robinson, of Hopewell, passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday, November 17, 2022, surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law. She was preceded in death by her loving parents; husband, Truman J. Kellogg; son, Tony W. Oakes; nephew, Andrew West; her adored fur babies, Levi, Baby, and Angel; and her loving husband, Mark A. Robinson.
Gail was born and raised in Buford, Georgia, and later moved to Sugar Hill, Georgia, where she raised her two sons. Gail delivered newspapers, for the Atlanta Constitution, in the early mornings from 1980-1996, and spent her afternoons as dedicated buyer and bookkeeper for Kings Hardware, until 1999.
Gail married her soulmate, Mark, in February of 2000 and moved to the small town of Waymart, Pennsylvania. Together they spent their mornings on the porch of their dream home, watching the sunrise. Gail could always be found in her rocking chair enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
After Mark's death in 2014, she moved to Hopewell, Virginia, where she was given the nickname of "Lil G" from her loving grandson, JT, because of her young at heart attitude, sassiness, and wonderful sense of humor.
Gail is survived by her son, Christopher Kellogg and his wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Kayla Singleton (Connor), Katelyn Cox (David), Matthew Cox, Jonathan Diamond (Emma); great-grandchildren, Cynthia Singleton, Helena Kuda, JJ Singleton, Lilly Caton, and Oren Caton; sister, Freida West (Reid); nephews, Shane West (Michelle), Eric West (Shannon), Ryan West (Katie), and Jeremy West; great-nephews, Aidan, Kellen, Evan, August, and Caleb; and many other loving family members and friends.
Family and friends will be greeted from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial of her life, on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Homes, 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, Virginia 23860. A Celebration of Life will be held, after the memorial, at 15805 Gary Avenue, Chester, Virginia 23831. We hope all our family and friends will join us for the celebration.
A heartfelt thank you to all that helped care for her during her last days, especially Rhonda Evangelista, Pam Wiggins, and the staff of Promedica.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA. Condolences may be registered at
