Charles Connelly

Charles Bernell Connelly, Jr., 76, of 503 N. 5th St., Hopewell died at his residence July 14, 2004. Mr. Connelly was born in Hopewell, a son of the late Charles B. Connelly, Sr. and Myrtie Lowe Connelly. He retired after 44 years of service as a supervisor with the Hercules Company. He was a member of the Hopewell Lions Club and Dupont Lodge #289, AF & AM of Hopewell. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Doris Beasley Connelly, 2 sons; Kelly C. Connelly and wife Vicki, Colin C. Connelly and wife Stephanie and a grandson; Kasey L. Connelly, all of Hopewell. Also survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother; Jewel Gammon of Houston TX, Elva Stephenson of Kitty Hawk, NC, Rowena Lund of Richmond, VA and George Clifton Connelly of St. Helen’s, OR. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, July 19th in Bermuda Memorial Park with Rev. James McKinnell pastor of the New Covenant Church of the Brethern officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence on Sunday, July 18 from 5 to 6:30 PM. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA, 23060.
