MSGT Charles E. Crews, U. S. Army (Ret.), 75, of Glen Allen, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008. Born in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, he was the son of the late George and Rosa Dodson Crews. Charlie served in Korea and Vietnam, retiring in 1973 with 21 years of service and was presently employed by C. B. Richard Ellis. He was a former member of Kenwood United Methodist Church and presently a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the J. Thompson Wyatt American Legion Post No. 2 and the Forty & Eight. Charlie is survived by his wife, Deloris Tucker Crews; a son, Timothy Crews of Chester; step-son, David W. Wray, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Richmond; step-granddaughter, Lauren Wray; sisters, Katherine Chaffin and husband, Bill of Columbia, TN and Mildred Haley of Smyrna, GA; brother, Claude Crews and wife, Evelyn of Columbia, TN; sister-in-law, Nancy Tucker States of Glen Allen and her son, Mark D. States of Midlothian; several nieces and nephews; his many friends in Mount Pleasant, TN and Petersburg; and his loving church family of Kenwood United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Tuesday, February 19, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Troy Kaichen and the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating.
