Charles, Cuthbert

Charles Henry Cuthbert died Saturday November 27, 2004 at John Randolph Hospital, his wife and other family members at his bedside. The cause of death was pulmonary fibrosis. A native and lifelong resident of the City of Petersburg, he was the son of Robert McKenney Cuthbert and Margaret King Collier, and was 87 years old. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Hibernia McIlwaine Hassell Cuthbert, daughters Margaret Collier Cuthbert Broaddus of Old Church, Virginia and Hibernia McIlwaine Cuthbert Langley of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, sons Charles H. Cuthbert, Jr. of Petersburg, Nathaniel West Cuthbert, M.D. also of Petersburg, and twelve grandchildren. The family will receive friends at J. T. Morriss Funeral Home in Petersburg on Monday, November 29, from 7pm until 8:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Petersburg on Tuesday, November 30 at 12 noon, followed by a graveside service at Blandford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 110 North Union Street, Petersburg, VA 23803. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
