Charles Augusta Dabney, Jr.

Charles Augusta Dabney, Jr., 48, of Chesterfield, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Beatrice “Mama B” Dance; and two uncles, Landis Dance and Lawrence Dance.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alita Dabney; children, Austin Dabney, Spencer Dabney, and Cameron Dabney; parents, Charles Dabney, Sr. and Ruby Dabney; sisters, Charlette Dabney and Rebecca Dabney; father and mother-in-law, John Austin and Edith Austin; brother-in-law, Antonio Perry; special friends, Floyd Gray, Walter Humphrey, and Jerri Morel; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dianna “DeeDee” Meunier, for her kindness and support through this difficult time.
Charles Dabney was employed with Pleasants Hardware Store for many years as store manager and was especially dedicated. He was known as “Coach” by many in the Bellwood area, and enjoyed being active with all youth sports his kids were involved with. He loved to fish and root for the Washington Redskins! He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing jokes on his family and friends. Charles will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Bellwood Baptist Church, 9138 Quinnford Blvd. Richmond, VA 23237. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Moore’s Cemetery, Chester VA. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
