Charles Butler Elliott

Charles Butler Elliott, 89, of Chesterfield, VA and formerly of Essex County, VA passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021. Born in Essex County, VA he was the son of the late Harry Fleet Elliott, Sr. and Susie Ryland Baldwin Elliott; and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Crostic Elliott. Mr. Elliott was an avid rabbit hunter, and enjoyed golfing, loving on his beagles, cutting his grass, fishing and spending time on the Rappahannock River. He retired after 37 years from Reynolds Metal, where he was affectionally known as “Charlie the Mailman”. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy E. Murdock and her husband, Thomas K. Murdock; two sisters, Virginia Elliott and Mary Muse; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Brandermill Woods Assisted Living for their loving care and support. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
