Charles James

Charles William Thomas James, 91, of Hopewell, formerly of Petersburg, died Monday, May 28, 2007. He was born in Mineola, NY and had been a long time resident of this area. Mr. James served as an assistant coach at Petersburg High School, was a volunteer at the Petersburg YMCA and was a retired civil service employee from Bellwood. He was the son of the late William Thomas and Alice Pink James. Mr. James is survived by three nieces, Alice James Colcleaser and her husband Dennis Gilchrist of Hopewell, Betty James Brittle of Richmond and Mary Ann James of Bend, OR., 1 great niece and 2 great nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 30, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Perkinson officiating. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg.
